Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy continues to display strong confidence in his leadership and the public’s support for his government. As his administration approaches the completion of two years in office, Revanth has made it clear that he expects to win a second term.
Speaking at the “Meet the Press” program held recently, the Chief Minister stated that the Congress government will remain in power for the next term as well. He even challenged journalists to make a note of his statement. This is not the first time he has expressed such confidence. Earlier, he had remarked that he would lead the state for ten consecutive years, a comment that sparked political reactions, particularly from opposition leaders including Komatireddy Raj Gopal Reddy.
Why Revanth Reddy Believes He Will Win Again
Revanth’s confidence stems from historical voting patterns in the Telugu states. Over the last three decades, voters in united Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have repeatedly given consecutive terms to ruling parties.

Revanth believes that this electoral cycle now favors the Congress in Telangana, and he expects the same trend to continue for the upcoming election.

Political analysts, however, note that sentiment is only one factor. Consecutive victories in the past were supported by strong emotional or social waves.
- Chandrababu Naidu’s second term was driven by administrative momentum and a clear positive public wave.
- Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy’s second victory benefited from vote splits involving Lok Satta and Praja Rajyam.
- BRS retained power due to the strong Telangana identity movement.
Experts say Revanth will need a similarly strong emotional or developmental narrative to convert his confidence into votes.
Revanth’s Governance Strategy
At present, Revanth Reddy is focusing more on governance than political campaigning. His administration is prioritizing state development projects and welfare initiatives. He has avoided mixing routine governance with aggressive political messaging. However, political observers believe that his strategic political planning could unfold closer to the next Assembly elections.
Revanth is known for timing his political moves effectively. If he identifies a strong emotional or social factor that resonates with the public, he may activate it closer to the election period. This may explain his steady confidence when speaking about the future of his government.
