**Bhadradri Kothagudem:** The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials on Tuesday apprehended K. Suryanarayana, the District Horticulture and Sericulture Officer of Bhadradri Kothagudem, while accepting a bribe of ₹1,14,000. The arrest took place at his office in the Integrated District Collectorate, where he was caught red-handed receiving the bribe from a complainant seeking official clearance on pending bills.The complainant, representing Texmo, a company that supplies drip irrigation equipment, alleged that Suryanarayana demanded the bribe to process and forward bills amounting to ₹14,17,778. These bills were related to 15 files from farmers in Palvancha, Mulakalapalli, and Dammapeta mandals.As per ACB officials, Suryanarayana instructed the complainant to deliver the bribe in a black bag, which was later recovered from the officer’s possession. A chemical test confirmed the presence of the tainted cash on Suryanarayana’s hands and clothes, sealing the evidence against him.Suryanarayana was arrested and will be produced before the Additional Sessions Judge for ACB cases in Warangal. Further investigation into the case is ongoing.The arrest highlights the ACB’s continued efforts to tackle corruption and ensure transparency in government processes.
