Hyderabad Police have registered a case against two individuals after a video showing a dangerously modified open-top car went viral on X.
The incident took place on July 14 on the RGIA Airport Road towards Shamshabad. The car, bearing registration number TG 08 AG 92XX, was being driven by G. Sai Tharun, while V. Lakshmi Priyanka, a 30-year-old IT employee from Prakasam district, was seen sitting on the roof of the moving vehicle.
Police investigation revealed that the vehicle had been illegally modified by removing its roof without authorization. Officials stated that such unauthorized modifications, along with negligent driving, pose a serious threat to the safety of passengers and other road users.
Based on a complaint filed by RGIA Traffic Police, a case has been registered at RGI Airport Police Station under Crime No. 653/2026, invoking Sections 125 read with 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Further investigation is underway.
