Newly appointed Hyderabad Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar has made it clear that the fight against drugs will be his top priority. After officially taking charge, Sajjanar addressed the media and assured citizens that the police will impose a strong crackdown on drug trafficking and consumption in the city.
“Hyderabad is one of the fastest-growing cities in India, but the major challenge we are facing today is the menace of drugs,” Sajjanar said. He emphasized that strict action will be taken against drug suppliers, peddlers, and those involved in the illegal network.
Highlighting the seriousness of the issue, the Commissioner added that the Hyderabad police will work in close coordination with law enforcement agencies from other states. He also mentioned that if required, additional personnel will be deployed to strengthen operations against the drug mafia.
Sajjanar, known for his tough approach and previous track record in handling organized crime, assured the public that Hyderabad will not be allowed to become a hub for narcotics trade. His statement has raised hopes among citizens and civic groups who have long been demanding stronger measures to curb the rising drug problem in the city.
Authorities have also urged public cooperation, stressing that awareness and vigilance at the community level are key to eradicating the drug menace.
