*Hyderabad, October 19* – HYDRA, the city’s urban enforcement team, is gearing up for a new operation targeting footpath encroachments, in a bid to ease the persistent traffic congestion in Hyderabad. Following its previous successful crackdown on illegal encroachments using bulldozers, HYDRA has now set its sights on freeing up footpaths to ensure smoother traffic flow across the city.In collaboration with the Traffic Department, HYDRA Commissioner Ranganath and Traffic Commissioner Vishwaprasad have formulated a comprehensive plan of action aimed at solving the traffic problem caused by encroachments. As part of the initiative, “Operation Foot Path” will soon be launched, focusing on removing illegal constructions and reclaiming footpaths for pedestrians.During a recent meeting, the two officials discussed footpath encroachments as a major factor contributing to traffic jams. Under this operation, notices will be served to those who have encroached on footpaths, providing a window for voluntary removal. If encroachers fail to comply, bulldozers will be deployed to demolish the illegal structures. This will not only target private encroachments but will also include any government-owned shops occupying the space unlawfully.HYDRA’s aggressive approach reflects the city’s commitment to tackling the growing traffic crisis and restoring order on its roads. With “Operation Foot Path,” the team hopes to bring significant relief to Hyderabad’s daily commuters, while ensuring that footpaths serve their original purpose of providing safe spaces for pedestrians.
