Hyderabad, July 27: The Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) received 42 public grievances during Monday’s Prajavani programme, with several complaints highlighting alleged encroachments on government land, public open spaces, lakes, and layout amenities across Hyderabad and surrounding districts
A major complaint came from residents of Moosapet, who urged HYDRAA to safeguard 6.18 acres of government land estimated to be worth around ₹600 crore. The land, located between Kukatpally and Moosapet villages in Medchal–Malkajgiri district, had been earmarked for the construction of a government primary school and Zilla Parishad High School. Residents alleged that the absence of school buildings has led to encroachments, with private entities reportedly erecting sheds and occupying the land. They requested HYDRAA to immediately secure the land by fencing it and preventing further illegal occupation.
Another complaint from Dundigal village alleged that a ready-mix concrete (RMC) plant operating in Survey No. 419 is causing severe air and noise pollution in a residential area located near schools.
HYDRAA Additional Commissioner D. Anand Kumar reviewed all complaints and directed the concerned officials to initiate appropriate action.
Other Key Complaints Received:Kuntloor, Abdullapurmet (Ranga Reddy): Residents sought protection of nearly 100 acres of Bhoodan/Government land, alleging illegal encroachments and unauthorized occupation of plots developed in a 2015 layout.
Kollur, Sangareddy: Plot owners in Bhavani Nagar Layout complained that roads and parks spread across 254.36 acres have been encroached upon, urging HYDRAA to restore the original layout.
Mansoorabad, Saroor Nagar: Local residents alleged illegal construction on an open space reserved for public use under the 1985 HUDA layout in the Andhra Pradesh State Housing Corporation Weaker Sections Colony and requested its restoration.
Sardar Nagar, Maheshwaram: A landowner claimed that water was deliberately retained outside the Full Tank Level (FTL) and buffer zone of Pedda Cheruvu, rendering private lands unusable for over five years despite being outside the notified lake limits.
HYDRAA stated that all grievances have been forwarded to the respective departments for detailed inquiry and necessary action.
