Telegram, a widely-used messaging application, faces the possibility of a ban in India amid allegations of its involvement in illegal activities such as fraud and gambling. The Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Center (I4C), in collaboration with the Union Home Ministry and the IT Department, is currently investigating these claims.The investigation will examine whether Telegram is being used for unlawful purposes and assess the app’s compliance with Indian IT regulations. The outcome of this probe could determine the future availability of Telegram in India, highlighting ongoing concerns over the regulation and oversight of digital platforms.
