Jharkhand Launches Film & Television Institute to Boost Creative Talent

The Government of Jharkhand has launched the Jharkhand Film & Television Institute (JFTI), marking a major step towards strengthening creative education and skill development for the state’s youth.

The initiative is backed by a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Jharkhand Film Development Corporation Limited (JFDCL) and the Satyajit Ray Film & Television Institute (SRFTI), Kolkata. Through this collaboration, aspiring filmmakers and media professionals will receive world-class technical training and industry-oriented skills.

In the initial phase, the institute will offer training in Sound Designing, Film Editing, Animation, Script & Screenplay Writing, Cinematography, Direction, and Film Production. The program is also expected to prepare students for opportunities in the rapidly growing OTT and digital content sectors, alongside traditional cinema.

The launch is being seen as a significant initiative to help showcase Jharkhand’s creative talent on both national and global platforms
