Hyderabad, [Date] – Telangana Minister Sridhar Babu has announced that stringent actions will be taken against officials who granted permissions to unauthorized settlements. In a significant statement, he also addressed the ongoing efforts to improve water flow in the Musi River and ensure housing for squatters residing in the occupied areas along the river.Speaking about the government’s commitment to protecting local water bodies, Sridhar Babu emphasized that alternative facilities are being provided to those residing in areas under Musi occupation. “Our government is making every effort to safeguard ponds and rivers, and ensure that the poor and middle-class families face no difficulties,” he stated. He also stressed that Congress has always stood with the underprivileged, assuring the public that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is committed to delivering double-bedroom houses to all poor families displaced from the Musi area. He criticized the opposition, particularly the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), for hindering the development of the Musi River and exploiting the situation to provoke unrest.The Minister further noted that the government is taking steps to address the concerns of the affected communities. “We will ensure that the problems caused by the Hydra demolition are resolved, especially for the poor and middle-class families,” Sridhar Babu added, reaffirming the government’s focus on equitable development.In response to the unauthorized settlements, Sridhar Babu called for accountability, stating, “Action should be taken against officials who gave permissions to unauthorized places.” To assist affected individuals, he announced the establishment of help desks in all collector offices across the state.Sridhar Babu also mentioned the case of Mallanna Sagar, pointing out the BRS government’s failure to protect farmers. He referenced the tragic death of Mallareddy, a farmer, during protests, underscoring the need for justice for displaced individuals.
