Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for multiple development projects worth over ₹7,300 crore today. The works cover urban roads, drainage, asset-management, infotech, and infrastructure improvements.

The key projects include:

  • Manipur Urban Roads, Drainage, and Asset Management Improvement Project (over ₹3,600 crore)
  • Five National Highway projects (costing more than ₹2,500 crore)

During his speech, PM Modi called Manipur “a land of courage and bravery.” He thanked locals for gathering despite heavy rain. He said his helicopter couldn’t land safely because of the weather, so he chose to travel by road.

He expressed how deeply moved he was seeing youth and elders carrying the Tiranga (Indian flag) in difficult conditions. Modi described the scene as unforgettable.
