Prashant Kishor Launches Jan Suraaj Party, Pledges Focus on Education Reform in Bihar

*Patna, October 2, 2024* – Political strategist-turned-leader Prashant Kishor officially launched his political party, Jan Suraaj Party, in Patna on Wednesday. During the launch event, Kishor outlined his vision for Bihar, emphasizing the urgent need for educational reform and criticizing the state’s ongoing liquor ban.In his speech, Kishor stressed that if Bihar is to achieve a world-class education system, an investment of ₹5 lakh crore would be required over the next 10 years. He proposed reallocating funds currently lost to the liquor ban, stating, “When the liquor ban is removed, the money will not be diverted into the budget for security of leaders or infrastructure like roads and electricity. Instead, it will be used solely for building a new education system in Bihar.”Kishor also highlighted the economic impact of the ban, claiming that Bihar loses ₹20,000 crore annually due to the policy. He argued that redirecting these funds towards education would have a transformative effect on the state. With the launch of the Jan Suraaj Party, Kishor aims to bring a fresh political approach to Bihar, focusing on long-term investments in education, infrastructure, and social reform. The launch marks his official entry into the political landscape of Bihar after years of playing a key role as a strategist for other political leaders across India.
