Seaplane Service Trial Run Set to Begin Between Vijayawada and Srisailam

*Vijayawada*: In a boost to tourism and regional connectivity, an aircraft landed at Punnami Ghat in Vijayawada on Friday, marking preparations for the trial run of the much-anticipated Vijayawada-Srisailam seaplane service. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is expected to board the seaplane for its trial run from Vijayawada on Saturday.The Andhra Pradesh Airports Development Corporation (APADC) has been instrumental in setting up infrastructure for the service, including floating platforms, seating arrangements, and other amenities at the seaplane’s takeoff and landing berth, located upstream of Prakasam Barrage.The seaplane service aims to enhance tourist access to scenic sites in Andhra Pradesh, particularly the Srisailam area, known for its temple and natural beauty. Officials believe this initiative will provide a unique travel experience while boosting the tourism sector in the state.Tourism and APADC representatives have expressed excitement for the service, which could soon offer both locals and tourists a new, convenient way to explore Andhra Pradesh’s key destinations.
