Telangana CM Revanth Reddy Seeks Defence Land Transfer for Gandhi Sarovar Project

New Delhi, September 10, 2025 –

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has urged Defence Minister Rajnath Singh to transfer 98.20 acres of defence land for the state government’s ambitious Gandhi Sarovar Project.

The Chief Minister, who is currently on a visit to Delhi, met Rajnath Singh at his residence. During the meeting, he explained in detail the state’s plan to construct the project at the confluence of the Musi and Esa rivers.

A Landmark Project for National Unity

CM Revanth Reddy highlighted that the project will feature the *“Gandhi Circle of Unity”, symbolizing *Mahatma Gandhi’s values of peace and national integration. He appealed to the Union Defence Ministry to transfer the land so that the project can move forward without hurdles.

Features of Gandhi Sarovar Project

According to the proposal, the Gandhi Sarovar Project will not only serve as an urban landmark but also as a cultural and educational hub. The facilities planned include:

  • A Knowledge Hub to spread Gandhian philosophy
  • A Meditation Village for spiritual reflection
  • A Handloom Promotion Centre to encourage traditional crafts
  • Public recreation spaces and landscaped zones
  • Ghats along the riverfront
  • A Peace Statue Museum showcasing Gandhi’s life and teachings

The Chief Minister stated that the project will stand as a prestigious symbol of unity, harmony, and Gandhian principles, attracting visitors from across the nation.
