Andhra Pradesh, November 15, 2025:
The Andhra Pradesh government has approved the release of ₹548.28 crore under the 15th Finance Commission to strengthen local governance and infrastructure development across the state.
The funds have been allocated to district parishads, mandal parishads and gram panchayats under the Tied Grant for the financial year 2025-26. These grants are aimed at improving essential civic services, village development works and local administration systems.
Officials stated that the amount will support rural development projects, drinking water facilities, sanitation improvement and other priority works planned by local bodies.
Issuing the official directive on Friday, Principal Secretary of Panchayat Raj and Rural Development, Shashibhushan Kumar, instructed the Commissioner of Panchayat Raj to initiate further action immediately. The department has also been asked to ensure smooth allocation of funds to the respective districts and village panchayats.
Government sources say the early release of grants will help local bodies begin development works without delays, especially in regions that depend heavily on central and state financial support.
