Hyderabad: Telangana Police has intensified its efforts to strengthen cyber security and improve its performance across national cyber crime benchmarks. During a statewide video conference, senior police officials reviewed Cyber Security, e-Zero FIR implementation, and the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network & Systems (CCTNS) with officers from all police units.
The review comes amid growing concerns raised by the Government of India over the sharp increase in cyber fraud cases, particularly “Digital Arrest” scams. The Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) regularly evaluates states based on nine key cyber security performance indicators.
Officials noted that Telangana’s e-Zero FIR system has not yet reached its full potential and directed all units to ensure its effective implementation. Telangana Police also appreciated the efforts of T-SPARK and the Telangana Cyber Security Bureau (TCSB) for registering nearly 20 e-Zero FIRs within just two days.

Senior officials directed all police units to strengthen capacity building, expand Information, Education and Communication (IEC) activities, and ensure the effective use of CCTNS in every cyber crime investigation. The department aims to secure a top national ranking through technology-driven policing and stronger cyber crime response.
