Congress Does Not Wish Death on Anyone, KCR Should Live for 100 Years: Telangana Minister Sridhar Babu
Hyderabad, September 9: Telangana Minister for IT and Legislative Affairs D. Sridhar Babu said the Congress party does not believe in wishing death upon anyone.
He said former Chief Minister and BRS president K. Chandrashekar Rao, popularly known as KCR, should remain healthy and live for more than 100 years.
Speaking amid the ongoing political tensions in the Telangana Assembly, Sridhar Babu said Congress leaders sincerely wished KCR a long and healthy life. He also said the former Chief Minister should continue serving the people of Telangana with his experience and political guidance.
The minister stressed that the Congress party has never followed a culture of wishing ill upon political opponents.
His remarks came during heated developments in the Telangana Assembly, where political exchanges between the ruling Congress and the opposition BRS have intensified.
KCR Should Continue to Serve the People
Sridhar Babu said KCR’s experience could continue to benefit Telangana and its people.
He added that political differences should not lead to personal attacks or remarks against any individual’s life or health.
"We do not wish for anyone’s death. KCR should live for 100 years and remain healthy," Sridhar Babu said, according to reports from the Assembly proceedings.
BRS Asked to Follow Assembly Rules
The Legislative Affairs Minister said there are established rules and procedures for raising public issues in the House.
He advised BRS members to submit their concerns to the Speaker in writing and in accordance with the Assembly’s rules and regulations.
According to Sridhar Babu, legislators should use the proper parliamentary process to raise issues affecting the public.
He said the government was prepared to respond to questions and concerns raised through the appropriate legislative channels.
The minister had earlier also urged opposition leaders to attend the Assembly and raise issues directly in the House.
No Compromise on Dignity of Telangana Assembly
Sridhar Babu made it clear that there would be no compromise on maintaining the dignity and decorum of the Telangana Legislative Assembly.
He warned against the use of abusive language or objectionable behaviour inside the Assembly and its premises.
The minister said every elected representative must respect democratic institutions and follow established rules.
He also appealed to all members to respect the authority and position of the Speaker.
Assembly proceedings should be allowed to function smoothly and focus on issues concerning the people, he said.
Recent Assembly disruptions have triggered sharp exchanges between the Congress and BRS leadership, with several BRS legislators facing suspension during the current session.
Opposition Should Play a Constructive Role
Sridhar Babu said the opposition should stand with the people by offering constructive suggestions and raising genuine public concerns.
He said political parties should avoid creating unnecessary controversies that could divert attention from important public issues.
"Democracy functions according to rules and procedures, and everyone must respect them," the minister said.
The Congress government, he added, expects the opposition to participate constructively in legislative debates.
The remarks come at a time when political tensions between the ruling Congress and the BRS have remained high over developments inside and outside the Telangana Assembly.
