Maharashtra Declares Day of Mourning as Nation Pays Tribute to Ratan Tata

Ratan Tata, the revered former chairman of Tata Sons, passed away at the age of 86 on Wednesday night in Mumbai. The Maharashtra government has declared a day of mourning today, with the national flag at half-mast across government offices, and all entertainment events canceled as a mark of respect. His mortal remains are currently kept at the National Centre for Performing Arts (NCPA) in Mumbai, allowing the public to pay their last respects. The last rites are scheduled to be held at Worli crematorium after 4 PM. Ratan Tata, known for his leadership in transforming the Tata Group and his immense philanthropic efforts, will be given a state funeral.
