Unauthorized Protest Disrupts Emergency Medical Services in Mahabubabad; Case Filed

Mahabubabad, July 31:

A tense situation unfolded in Mahabubabad town after a group of individuals staged an unauthorized protest in front of a private hospital, disrupting emergency medical services. According to the police, the protest was staged without prior permission and led to serious obstruction in critical healthcare delivery.

Background of the Incident

On *July 27, 2025, a woman named **Boda Padma, hailing from Serolu and Bodathanda areas, was admitted to a private hospital in Mahabubabad for delivery. The hospital, after evaluating her condition, informed her family that she was suffering from *high blood pressure (BP) and that surgery would involve considerable risk.

After clearly explaining the risks, the hospital took written consent from Padma’s husband and family members before proceeding with the surgery.

Following the operation, Padma’s BP levels reportedly fluctuated. The doctors kept her under observation and administered treatment. However, on *July 28, she suffered **two episodes of seizures (fits). Despite emergency care and *CPR, her heart stopped, and she was declared dead.

Protest Turns Aggressive

Taking advantage of the tragic incident, a few individuals from a particular community — *Boda Ramesh, Mangilal, Bhima Naik, and Hussain, along with others — *sat down in protest in front of the hospital gate. The hospital staff approached them for a discussion, but tensions escalated.

According to the police, the protesters *abused the hospital personnel and physically assaulted one staff member. They also *demanded ₹50 lakhs as compensation. It is alleged they forcibly took a written document and collected ₹1 lakh, threatening further action.

The protest led to a blockade of emergency services, affecting other critical patients and creating panic among hospital visitors.

Legal Action Initiated

Based on a written complaint from the hospital’s duty doctor, Mahabubabad Town In-charge Inspector Sarvayya confirmed that a case has been registered against the individuals involved.

“Protests conducted without permission and any action that obstructs emergency medical care are serious offenses. Legal steps have been taken. No one will be spared if they try to disrupt healthcare services,” stated Inspector Sarvayya.
