*Amaravati, September 22, 2024* – Former Minister Roja has voiced her outrage regarding the ongoing controversy surrounding the Tirumala Tirupati Srivari Laddu, taking aim at Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu for alleged political opportunism. Speaking to the media today, Roja criticized Naidu’s recent comments about the quality of the sacred laddu, stating that his allegations are baseless and politically motivated.Roja recalled that during Jagan Mohan Reddy’s tenure, prominent leaders, including Prime Minister Modi and Chief Justice of India, visited Tirupati without raising any concerns about the laddu’s taste. “If there were issues back then, why did they not complain?” she questioned, highlighting the inconsistency in Naidu’s stance. She defended the current Executive Officer of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), Shyamala Rao, who, upon assuming office, clarified that pure ghee was being used. However, she pointed out that on July 23, Rao announced that vegetable oil had been mixed, leading to a return of the ghee.Roja accused Naidu of attempting to manipulate public sentiment by holding press conferences to blame the current administration for the controversy. “This is a diversionary tactic to distract from the real issues affecting Andhra Pradesh,” she asserted, criticizing the increase in violence and unrest in the state since the formation of the coalition government. She further accused Naidu of not hesitating to exploit even religious sentiments for political gain, emphasizing, “He is not leaving even Venkateswara Swamy out of his political agenda.” The former minister urged the public to recognize the tactics being employed by Naidu and his party as a means to deflect attention from the government’s failures.
