New Delhi: Senior Supreme Court Advocate Mehmood Pracha arrived at Jantar Mantar and addressed the media, stating that police officials who have allegedly committed excesses would be held accountable under the Constitution and the law.
Pracha claimed that evidence, including video recordings, has been collected against every allegedly corrupt police officer involved. He asserted that those found responsible would face legal consequences and could be prosecuted in accordance with Indian law.
He also apologized for arriving late, explaining that he had already shared the reason, and said he had now reached the protest site with his entire legal team.
Emphasizing the role of the legal fraternity, Pracha said lawyers would stand “like a shield” to protect the rights of the people through lawful means. He added that any legal action could be pursued through due process and stressed that no one should resort to the use of force.
