Andhra CM Naidu Hands Over ₹250 Crore Compensation to Veligonda Project Evacuees

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has handed over ₹250 crore in compensation to families displaced by the Veligonda Project, as part of the third tranche of rehabilitation and resettlement support.

According to an official release, ₹250 crore has been provided to 2,027 families in the latest tranche. With this, the government has disbursed a total of ₹768 crore across three tranches to 6,206 affected families.

The first tranche provided ₹318 crore to 2,557 families, while the second tranche saw ₹200 crore distributed to 1,622 families. Overall, the payments cover around 85% of the rehabilitation and resettlement work.

The state government has also indicated that the first phase of the Veligonda Project is expected to be inaugurated soon.
