Chirag Paswan Slams Bihar Administration, Questions NDA Government Over Gaya Rape Case & Voter Revision Row

Patna | July 26, 2025 —

Union Minister and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) national president Chirag Paswan has once again launched a sharp attack on the *NDA government in Bihar, despite being part of the alliance. He called out the *Bihar Police and local administration as “completely inefficient” while expressing outrage over the alleged rape of a female candidate in Gaya.

Speaking to the media, Chirag said the law and order situation in Bihar is “deeply disturbing” and the state machinery has failed to protect its citizens. His remarks have sparked political tremors, especially as the state inches closer to crucial elections.

“Police and Officials Are Incompetent”: Chirag Paswan on Gaya Incident

Chirag did not hold back while condemning the authorities.

“This horrific crime against a female aspirant in Gaya exposes the failure of the police and administration. The people of Bihar are feeling unsafe, and the system is failing them,” he said.

He demanded swift justice for the survivor and strict action against those responsible, adding that mere transfers or suspensions won’t be enough.

SIR Process: Chirag Attacks Congress & RJD Over Boycott Call

While addressing the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Bihar’s voter list, Chirag Paswan also targeted the *Congress and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD). He accused them of trying to discredit the electoral process out of *fear of defeat.

“These parties are scared of losing again. That’s why they are talking about boycotting elections. If they have the courage, let them go ahead and do it,” Chirag said.

Calling Congress the oldest party in the country and RJD a *veteran party in Bihar, he challenged them to *contest elections alone, as he did in 2020.

Illegal Voters Must Be Eliminated: Chirag’s Strong Stand

Reiterating his commitment to *clean and fair elections, Chirag emphasized that *no illegal infiltrators should be allowed to vote in Bihar. He welcomed the Election Commission’s SIR initiative, calling it a vital step towards transparency.

Earlier on Friday, while speaking to journalists, Chirag said:

“The SIR is being conducted by the Election Commission, which is a *constitutional body, not the government. Ironically, this process started based on the *opposition’s own complaints about voter fraud. Now they are politicizing it.”

He added that technology is being used to verify and clean up the voter list, which is a step forward for Indian democracy.

Key Election Context & Political Implications

Chirag’s statements come at a time when Bihar is witnessing:

  • Growing public anger over rising crimes
  • Opposition parties accusing the NDA of misusing official processes
  • Rising political heat ahead of 2025 state assembly elections

Chirag appears to be carving a distinct political identity within the NDA, especially as his public tone continues to diverge from the state government.

What Lies Ahead?

With the *Special Intensive Revision process underway, political tensions are set to escalate. Chirag’s firm stand on both *women’s safety and voter integrity may resonate with youth and first-time voters.

Observers believe this may also signal a shift in LJP(R)’s strategy, possibly preparing the ground for a more assertive role in the 2025 Bihar elections.
