KTR Accuses Rahul Gandhi of Corruption in Musi Project, Slams Political Opponents

*Hyderabad, October 2, 2024* – Telangana Minister K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) launched a scathing attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and opposition figures during a recent public interaction, accusing them of being involved in corruption and manipulation regarding the Musi River project in Hyderabad.Speaking to reporters, KTR claimed that the Musi project, which is estimated to cost ₹16,000 crore, is being misused for political gains, alleging that it is part of a larger “lootification” scheme orchestrated by Rahul Gandhi. “Rahul Gandhi is driving this project, not Revanth Reddy. It’s a scam aimed at diverting funds from Telangana to fund elections in other states,” KTR said, asserting that the Congress leader was using the Telangana government’s resources for his political benefit.KTR also addressed the issue of trolling, especially comments made by political opponents about his family. Referring to earlier remarks made by ministers Konda Surekha and Seethakka, he said, “Before lecturing us on trolling, these ministers should wash the Chief Minister’s mouth with phenyl using a toilet brush, given the way they had spoken about KCR and Kavitha. You forgot how they had made personal comments about my family and me. Why are they crying now when we’re not even involved?”Regarding the Musi project, KTR assured that the Telangana government was committed to completing the ₹16,000 crore project and said that significant progress had already been made, with ₹4,000 crore worth of work completed. He also revealed that a detailed presentation showcasing Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao’s vision for the Musi project would be released in the next 2-3 days.Further, KTR made allegations against certain individuals he claimed were working as “collection agents” for political parties. He named Faheem Qureshi, AV Reddy, Rajender Reddy, and Uday Simha Reddy as people involved in this alleged activity, without providing specific details. In a controversial statement, KTR suggested that the Governor’s approval of the ordinance related to the Musi project indicated the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) tacit approval of the project, implying political backing for the Hyderabad River Action Authority (HYDRAA).
