Leopard Movement Reported in Gudur; Forest Department Urges Public to Stay Alert

Mahabubabad: Panic gripped residents after suspected leopard movement was reported in Gudur mandal of Mahabubabad district. Forest Department officials confirmed that the footprints found in an agricultural field in the Kodi Cheruvu area are believed to be those of a leopard.
Forest Range Officer (FRO) Prasad Rao said that the incident came to light after a farmer noticed movement and unusual sounds from thick vegetation near his field around 7:00 PM on Saturday. Frightened by the incident, the farmer returned with other villagers on Sunday morning and discovered animal footprints, following which they informed the Forest Department.
Forest officials immediately inspected the spot and examined the footprints. Based on the initial assessment, officials said the footprints appear to belong to a leopard.
The Forest Department has advised farmers and residents of nearby villages to remain vigilant and avoid going alone to agricultural fields, especially during the early morning and evening hours. People have also been requested to immediately inform forest officials if they notice a leopard or any suspicious wildlife movement.
Officials stated that Forest Department staff are continuously monitoring the area and taking all necessary precautionary measures to ensure public safety.
