New Police Stations Inaugurated in Hyderabad: Shalibanda and Chatrinaka Get Modern Facilities

In a major step toward strengthening law enforcement infrastructure in Hyderabad, Telangana Minister and Hyderabad In-charge Ponnam Prabhakar inaugurated *two new police buildings—one for the *Shalibanda Police Station and another for the Chatrinaka Traffic Police Station.

The minister personally inspected the new facilities and congratulated the officers for their dedication to public service. The upgraded buildings aim to enhance policing efficiency and offer better services to the community.

Restored Heritage: Kotwal House Now a Police Heritage Landmark

In a significant heritage revival move, the *Anantram Purani Haveli (Kotwal House), a 120-year-old Nizam-era structure, has been restored and now serves as part of the *Hyderabad Police’s office space. Speaking on the occasion, Minister Ponnam Prabhakar remarked,

“This historic restoration not only reflects our past but also inspires future generations. It’s a proud moment for the city.”

Rajya Sabha MP Anil Kumar Yadav played a vital role in the project by contributing *CSR funds, while senior officials including *Hyderabad Commissioner C.V. Anand and MP Asaduddin Owaisi also attended the event.

Telangana Police: A Model for Law & Order in India

The Telangana Police continue to earn recognition as one of the most effective law enforcement bodies in the country. Minister Prabhakar highlighted that a peaceful environment encourages industrial growth and boosts tourism, both of which are essential for the state’s progress.

He emphasized that maintaining law and order creates an atmosphere of unity and brotherhood, especially in a culturally rich and diverse city like Hyderabad.

Harmony During Moharram and Heritage Acknowledgment

Recalling recent celebrations, the minister said,

“We participated in the Iftar feast at Bibi Ka Alam during the month of Ramzan, which reflects the communal harmony in Hyderabad.”

Minister Prabhakar also spoke about Sardar Mahal, the Puranic Bridge, and the educational institutions associated with Asaduddin Owaisi, highlighting their cultural relevance.

Government Push for Education and Infrastructure

Due to *space constraints in Hyderabad, many **government hostels and schools are operating outside the Outer Ring Road (ORR). However, the Telangana government has approved a **new integrated international school under the Young India initiative. Land inspection has already been ordered by the *District Collector, and construction will be completed soon.

Welfare Schemes for Women

As part of its *progressive welfare agenda, the Telangana government is now offering *free bus travel and 200 units of free electricity to women across the state. These measures aim to empower women through financial relief and mobility access.

Tech Upgrade for Police Stations

To modernize policing, the state government has sanctioned nearly ₹3 crore to upgrade 72 police stations across Hyderabad. These funds will be used for installing *AI-based surveillance systems, including **advanced CCTV cameras, as part of a smarter law enforcement initiative. Minister Prabhakar confirmed that *each station will receive ₹5 lakh for the technological upgrade.
