In a swift operation, the Shadnagar police apprehended three individuals attempting to defraud people by selling fake gold as genuine. The suspects, who were caught near Raikal Toll Plaza on 5th September 2024, were part of a larger scheme to cheat innocent buyers.The accused have been identified as (A1) Bhashapaka Sujeeth, also known as Santosh or Ranjith, from Kada Vendi Village, Dev Rupula Mandal, Janagama District, (A2) Palanati Ashok from Maittaram Village, Palakurti Mandal, Janagama District, and (A3) Bhashapaka Ramesh from the same region. The trio had allegedly purchased fake gold from a person named Mahesh in Bellary, with the intent to sell it in Hyderabad at inflated prices by passing it off as authentic gold.Acting on a tip-off, the Shadnagar Town Sub Inspector Balaram and his team successfully intercepted the criminals while they were transporting the fake gold. The police seized 790 grams of fake gold, a Swift Desire car, and three smartphones from the accused.The case was registered under Crime No. 686/2024, U/s 318(4), 3(5) of BNS Sections, based on a complaint by Sub Inspector of Police Sarath Kumar. The criminals were subsequently produced in court and sent to remand.ACP Rangaswamy played a key role in the operation, strategizing to trap the culprits. Inspector of Police P. Vijay Kumar, along with Sub Inspector Sarath Kumar and his team, were lauded for their efforts in bringing the criminals to justice. The Shadnagar police were praised for their swift and efficient action in preventing the fraudulent sale.
