*Hyderabad: September 14, 2024*With the grand Ganesh idol procession and immersion just 72 hours away, the Hyderabad City Police are in the final stages of meticulous preparations to ensure a seamless event. A joint route inspection involving several key departments was conducted on September 14, 2024, to finalize arrangements for this major celebration.Leading the inspection were Telangana DGP Dr. Jitender, IPS, Hyderabad Police Commissioner C.V. Anand, IPS, GHMC Commissioner Amrapali Kata, IAS, Hyderabad District Collector Anudeep Durishetti, IAS, and senior police officers including Additional CP Vikram Singh Mann, IPS, and CP Rachakonda Sudheer Babu, IPS. Officials from multiple departments such as HMDA, R&B, Transco, and the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) also participated.The inspection began at the famous Balapur Ganesh Temple and covered critical points along the 19 km procession route, passing through Chandrayanagutta, Falaknuma, Charminar, Nayapool, MJ Market, and culminating at the Hussain Sagar lake. Hyderabad CP C.V. Anand emphasized the importance of flawless coordination among departments to ensure the smooth movement of the procession.The team of officials walked from Rajesh Medical Hall to Gulzar Houz, stopping at key locations such as MJ Market Junction and Telugu Talli Junction to assess the flow of the idol processions and the role of law enforcement, traffic management, and other supporting wings. Officers from other departments also shared updates on their respective arrangements.One of the key focus areas was ensuring timely movement of idols from various zones, managing height restrictions, and clearing junctions to avoid any delays. A total of 25,000 police personnel, including officers from the Hyderabad City Police and forces from outside, will be deployed for the event. Comprehensive arrangements have been made for their accommodation and food. In addition, several roads part of the procession route will either be closed or see diversions, with multiple Quick Response Teams, dog squads, Anti-Chain Snatching teams, and SHE Teams stationed throughout the city to ensure safety.A joint command and control center featuring senior officers from key departments like GHMC, HMDA, R&B, and the medical services will be operational from the early hours of September 17 at the Telangana State Police Command Control Center (TGC&CC).The Hyderabad City Police has urged the public to cooperate with authorities and follow safety guidelines to ensure that this year’s Ganesh idol procession and immersion is a memorable and incident-free celebration.
