**Warangal Hanmakonda, July 25, 2024** In a significant crackdown on corruption, Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials apprehended Sub-Registrar Sunitha of Parkalas, Joint Warangal Hanmakonda District, for accepting a bribe. The arrest was made after Sunitha was caught red-handed accepting Rs. 80,000 in illicit payments.The incident unfolded when Lade Srinivas and Srikanth sought to transfer ownership of their inherited land, survey number 481 C in Madaram suburb, into their names following the passing of their mother. Sub-Registrar Sunitha allegedly demanded a bribe to facilitate the land transfer process, prompting the victims to report the matter to the ACB.According to ACB sources, Sunitha was arrested immediately after accepting the bribe on Thursday, marking a decisive move against corruption within the district’s land registration offices. ACB officials emphasized their commitment to rooting out such malpractices and ensuring transparency in public service operations.Sub-Registrar Sunitha faces charges under relevant sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act, and further investigation into the matter is underway.Local authorities have urged the public to report any instances of bribery or corruption, reaffirming their stance against illegal practices that undermine the integrity of public service delivery.
