Tight Security Arrangements Ahead of PM Modi’s Visit to Varanasi: Police Commissioner Issues Instructions

Police Commissioner Mohit Agarwal, along with District Magistrate S Rajalingam, inspected the venue where the PM is scheduled to appear. A comprehensive strategy was devised in a meeting with senior officials to ensure smooth and secure proceedings.Commissioner Agarwal emphasized the importance of vigilance during the Prime Minister’s visit. He made it clear that all police personnel deployed on duty must adhere to strict protocols, perform their duties with full honesty, and avoid any distractions. “Policemen will be deployed with ID cards and are prohibited from using mobile phones while on duty,” said the Commissioner, underscoring that any negligence would not be tolerated.The entire route of the PM’s arrival and departure will be monitored via CCTV and drone cameras. Entry to the venue will be strictly regulated, with thorough frisking and identity checks. Temporary parking facilities will be arranged near the venue, and no vehicles will be allowed to park along the roads to prevent congestion and ensure safety.Agarwal further instructed that rooftop duties will be assigned along the PM’s route and at the venue, ensuring high-level surveillance at all times. All personnel must arrive on time, in proper uniform, and with duty cards, ready to perform their responsibilities with full alertness and sensitivity.”Strict action will be taken against any officer found negligent in their duties,” Agarwal stated, warning that lapses in security measures will be met with serious consequences.
